September 2025
1st Opening night – 2025-26 syllabus overview & refresher on how to submit images.
8th What makes a competition image – Presentation by Brian Doyle, Alan Belton and Ryan Hutton.
15th Image feedback and editing basics – practical editing tips and feedback on your images.
22nd Jane Lazenby – fine art and equine photographer back by popular demand. This event will be Zoom only.
29th Mobile phone challenge – all genres and no time constraints, maximum 5 images.
October 2025
6th All the gear and some idea – members show their equipment or software to share ideas, tips, buying advice and example images. Members can also buy or sell equipment through auction.
13th Open 1 competition – Judge TBC
20th Guest speaker Tracey Lund – Talk from international wildlife photographer. This event will be Zoom only.
27th Practical – Andrew Alan – Night sky photography. www.scotlandsnightsky.com
November 2025
3rd Autobahn Scotland – Super car shoot.
10th Open 2 competition. Judge TBC.
17th Guest speaker Emma Finch – Portraits with Impact.This event will be Zoom only.
24th Group activity – Community portrait shoot. Members of local organisations such as RNLI, Cadets and Rotary Club are invited to have their portraits taken by members.
December 2025
1st Guest speaker Katie Hughes – in person talk from astro and deep space photographer.
8th Practical evening – Light guys return for a practical evening of light images.
15th Open 3 competition. Judged by Malcolm Lind.
22nd Christmas meal

January 2026
5th People at work / doing hobbies themed competition. Judged by Andy Hayes.
12th Guest speaker – Presentation by Royal Navy photographers attending from Faslane (TBC).
19th Portfolio competition – club members show us 5 images on a theme of their choice & describe to members followed by vote.
26th Practical macro & still life photography.
February 2026
2nd Open 4 competition. Judged by Chris Bell.
9th Interclub competition between Mearns and Deeside CC.
16th The 3-Way Competition – our regular inter club contest between Cambridge CC (New Zealand), Islesburgh CC (Shetland) & Mearns CC.
23rd Presentation by members – Members share and talk about 5 images (their own or by any other photographer) that have had an emotional impact on their lives.
March 2026
2nd Nautical themed competition. Judged by Gillian Temple.
9th Practical In Camera Movement (ICM) and blur.
16th Knockout competition.
23rd Guest Speaker – Mark Lynam – Aircraft photography. This event will be Zoom only.
30th Guest Speaker – Street photographer Graeme Youngson.
April 2026
6th POTY (Print of the Year) competition & Russell Adams Creative Trophy competition. Judge TBC.
13th DOTY (Digital image of the year) competition. Judged by Simon Allan. This event will be on Zoom only.
20th AGM
27th Awards and Social evening.

Annual print exhibition is held in Stonehaven library during August.
